Much needed urology equipment for the Port Moresby General Hospital was delivered yesterday.
On hand to receivethem was Health and HIV/AIDS Minister Michael Malabag. Mr Malabagsaidthe equipment will save lives and also reduce costs.
PNG'’s Chief Surgeon and Senior Urologist Dr Osborne Liko saidthe laparoscopic equipment will be used in different surgeries from kidney gall stones to knee and joint surgery.
Dr Likothen raised a concern onthe equipment’s sustainability and called onthe health department to assists in repairs.

Port Moresby General Hospital’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr David Mokela, saidthe new equipment will improver patient care and help decrease costs to seeking medical assistance overseas.
The laparoscopic equipment is fitted with a high definition camera tower that operates with Advanced Imaging Data Archiving.
