New PNG Defence Force Recruits

179 recruits enjoyed their passing out parade at the PNGDF Training Depot, Goldie Barracks, outside Port Moresby this morning.

Following the pass out, they were posted to various military companies which they will be working with.

Families, friends and relatives of the recruits gathered in numbers at the PNGDF Goldie Training Depot to witness the pass-out ceremony.

This is the second batch of the 2016 recruit graduation, which saw 179 soldiers in five platoons pass-out in full military outfit. The first batch graduated in March this year.

Central Province Governor, Kila Haoda, was invited as a reviewing officer to inspect the parade platoons.

Officiating at the parade, Haoda commended the PNGDF for a good parade turn-out.

He said this is only the beginning of a long journey in their military career.

And, he encouraged them to be fit and well-disciplined to carry out their tasks as mandated by the constitution to protect the country.

Awards were given to the best performing soldiers in each platoon.
