Over two thousand students in NCD will benefit from the much awaited funds under the NCD and Moresby South TVET Scholarship and School Fee Assistance Program with over four million kina in cheques presented to Technical Institutions in Port Moresby.

NCD Governor Powes Parkop says his vision has always been to see a cleaner and healthier city, and educating young Papua New Guineans is an approach to achieving that.

Moresby South MP and Housing Minister, Justin Tkatchenko committed one million kina for the School Fee Assistance Program. Mr Tkatchenko urged the students to show initiative and carry the responsibility of taking their dreams to the next level.

Some of the thirteen institutions under the NCD TVET scholarships include Don Bosco Technological Institute, Pacific Maritime College, and Mapex Training Institute.

For the Moresby South TVET scholarship, institutions including Port Moresby Business College, IBSU and UPNG Open College received their cheques.

The recipients of the scholarships were challenged to make the most of these opportunities and make a change in the country.

The NCD TVET Scholarship covers various institutions in the country, but only the cheques for institutions within NCD were officially presented today.
