The National Capital District (NCD) Hockey Association handed in their final selection list for the PNG Games to the NCDC Sports Desk late yesterday, after the executive made their final decision on who is eligible to represent NCD in this coming PNG Games, in West New Britain.
NCDC will have a men’s and women’s team that will travel with one coach and one team manager to Kimbe this November.
The NCD Hockey Association has been running weekend competitions for the last six weeks to identify potential best players to make up a final team of both the men’s and women’s divisions for the PNG Games.
From the 36 players selected the team will have 18 men and 18 women, with seven reserves each, with the competition to be played 11 a side.
Meanwhile, NCD Hockey Association is pushing to secure sponsors so that the association can host a local tournament in September, with affiliated clubs in the association.
The 2016 hockey season will end on the last weekend in October.
