19 members of the Police Dog Unit are at the possibility of being sent home, due to no accommodation.
They are residing in a classroom at Bomana Dog Unit, after fleeing from their residence at Bomana Training College.
New recruits at Bomana Training College and the members of the Dog Unit confronted in a fistfight last Friday, a cause believed to have started from domestic violence.
Today is the sixth day of the indefinite suspension for the Dog Unit.
The situation at Bomana remains the same since EMTV News last visited on Tuesday.
All vehicles, dogs and firearms are grounded and officers suspended from official duties.
Whilst awaiting the outcome of the investigation and clearance to uplift the suspension, 10 members of the Dog Unit could be sent to their home Provinces.
The officers lived in the Bomana Training College, however are now residing in a classroom at the Dog Unit.
Senior sources from the unit say if the 10 officers leave, they could have the possibility of effectively destabilising the Port Moresby Unit.
The incident started from various confrontations.
One that involved the two units started from a domestic violence case, last Friday, between a couple who are also Police officers from Dog Unit and Training College.
Gunshots were fired and fist exchanged.
Police have always been in the spotlight for their ill-discipline actions.
Police Commissioner, Gari Baki, when entering office, emphasizes the importance of discipline, command and control.
He said to have zero tolerance of ill-discipline actions by police, accountability of commanders will lead to a fit and proper force.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the confrontation started yesterday by the Police internal investigation unit.
