Disaster Rations For Ialibu Pangia Arrive

By Jack Lapauve Jr, EMTV – Port Moresby

The first nine containers of food rations for Ialibu Pangia District in Southern Highlands arrived over the weekend, to the delight of many in the area.

This will be distributed to Kewabi, South Wiru and East Pangia LLGs. The rations contain bags of rice, cartons of tinned fish, cooking oil and Maggi noodles.

District CEO of Ialibu/Pangia, Ron Yamuna, is appealing for equal distributions to be conducted across the affected communities.

Yamuna said people have suffered long enough in waiting for these rations, and they should be distributed as soon as possible.

This is the first of the rations to be covered by the K5 million which was released by the government to help assist those in need.

None of this money was used for logistics and allowances.

Yamuna has warned public servants to do the right thing for their communities and distribute these rations equally.
