The management of Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) announced the launch of SMS Alerts for benefit payments at a media conference this morning.
NSL Chief Executive Officer, Garry Tunstall, said the benefit payments SMS alert service is an innovation to establish effective communication between the members and the Super Fund.
He explained the new system will enable members to receive automated status updates about their exit payments via SMS.
The service will allow members to receive updates on benefit applications without having to visit the branches or by following up via email and calls to the call centre.
“Our SMS Service is part of a suite of products we are rolling out and will be promoted aggressively under our Super Smart e-Services platform.
“Given the geographical challenges facing our members to reach our physical points of presence, NSL is giving more emphasis in developing our electronic and mobile services so we can reach members…,” Mr Tunstall said.
Chief Manager Member Services, Charlie Gilichibi, explained that Nambawan Super decided on utilising this new service as a direct response to the growing demands of the Super Fund’s increasing membership.
Nambawan Super currently has 38,000 members accessing its online and mobile services.
The super fund manages superannuation funds totaling K4.8 billion for over 150,000 members from both the private and public sectors.
Nambawan Super will also be launching a new Smart Phone application in September where members will have easy access to their Annual Statements.
The CEO also announced that the NSL Head Office will be moving to a new location in December.
