Morobe’s Flexible Open Distance National News program has received new study resources to boost the student learning experience.
The learning centre, which receives most of its funding from the Morobe Provincial Government, offers a second opportunity for school leavers.
Flexible Open Distance National News has been priorit’sed in Morobe’s 2016 budget with a K1.5 million put aside for the program.
Established in 2014, the learning centre has since been running on funds provided by the provincial government.
Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru, says the provincial government is struggling to support the learning centre, but plans are in place to roll out the program into other districts within the province.
The school has opened a new administration building, launched an electronic learning program and taken ownership of a new vehicle presented by the provincial government.
As the school develops with a fast growth of student numbers each year, graduating students from 2014 and 2015 are still waiting to be awarded certificates by the school’s administration.
