Kombra: Manage Resumption Exercise

All teachers across the nation are expected to resume normal duties on Monday January 23.

National Education Secretary, Dr. Uke Kombra, has issued a directive for the 2017 teachers’ resumption dates, and procedures to be followed when managing the resumption exercises for this year.

In a statement, Dr. Kombra, said for all provincial and district education offices; principals; head teachers; managers; provincial standards steering committee; and educational institutions, are to manage the teachers’ resumption exercise.

Teachers of all institutions under the National Education System will resume duty on Monday January 23, and students on Monday January 30.

Teachers will be required to report to their principal, head teacher or manager to confirm their posting by the National or Provincial Education Board.

They must also complete the ‘Resumption-of-Duty Summary Sheet’, and ‘Teacher-Record-of-Appointment’.

The Resumption of Duty Summary Sheet form is vital because it ascertains continuity of teachers’ salary payments. It is also important that all forms to be correctly filled in and signed off.

Meanwhile, Dr Kombra appealed for a smooth start to the 2017 academic year.
