More Education Infrastructure Needed

by Stanley Ove Jr – EM TV, Port Moresby

The National Government’s Free Education Service, the first in the country’s 40 years, is seen as the highest achievement of the O’Neill-Dion Government over the last five years.

The service has given every child in the country an opportunity for a better education and a brighter future.

Prime Minister O’Neill, in his recent visit to the Southern Highlands Province, said the government will continue this service for the next two years.

However, he said the country needs more infrastructure to cater for the increasing population of children.

The Prime Minister said the National Government is planning for bigger things ahead. This includes building more classrooms and increasing the capacity for all tertiary institutions in the country.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister and Tari-Pori MP, James Marape said the country is financially stable and can deliver these services. Marape said the National Government will continue to help district deliver services more effectively.
