In last night’s Monday night football match, the Gold Coast Titans made it another win, working their way off the bottom of the ladder and defeating the Parramatta Eels 24-14.
It was the Titans who drew first blood with Kane Elgay crossing for a try in the seventh minute. But the Eels replied just five minutes later when Junior Paulo powered over for a try.
The Eels scored again in the 30th minute when Nathan Peats scored from dummy half, extending the Eels lead 10-6 at half time.
The Titans opened the scoring again in the second half, and two further tries saw them go on to become 10 point winners.
Round 21 of the NRL saw two major upsets over the weekend, with the top of the table Brisbane Broncos suffering a shock loss against the Manly Sea Eagles, and the Melbourne Storm being knocked off by the bottom-of-the-table Wests Tigers.
