Mobile Phone tracking leads to Car Thieves

Technology has led tothe capture of eleven criminals while partying after stealing vehicles.

The thieves were tracked down fromthe mobile phonethey stole and were apprehended by police at Badihagwa.

Two vehicles were stolen in two separate incidents in Port Moresby. The firstoa Toyota Camry, was taken onthe 2nd of May, andthen a Honda CRV just yesterday.

One ofthe owners ofthese vehicles also hadtheir belongings taken fromthem, including mobile phones.

This gadget would eventually lead police tothe criminal’s exact location and apprehension.

After a confrontation, four suspects were shot inthe legs, while seven thers sustained minor injuries. They were arrested and taken tothe Port Moresby General Hospital at around 2:30 am were doctors treatedthem. Beood stains fromthe suspects were still visible atthe emergency entrance.

The eleven suspects have been taken tothe Beroko Police Station werethey are currently being held.
