Milne Bay Submits Acquittals

Milne Bay Province is the first in the Southern Region to furnish and submit its 2013 Provincial Services Improvement Program and Provincial Support Grants Acquittal Reports to the Department of Implementation and Rural Development (D.I.R.D).  

Recently Milne Bay Governor Titus Philemon presented the 2013 PSIP and PSG Reports to the Acting Secretary for D.I.R.D Paul Sai'i.

 

The presentation by Mr Philemon was witnessed by Milne Bay Acting Provincial Administrator Michael Kape, Presidents of Sua and West Fergusion Local Level Government’s.

 

Mr Philemon said it is mandatory under the Public Finance Management Act to report to the Government on the spending of public funds.

 

This will see a transparent and accountable government in providing valuable services to people in the districts and the LLG’s.

 

The Department of Implementation and Rural Development is appealing to other Provinces and Districts to submit their 2007 to 2013 DSIP, PSIP and LLGSIP including provincial, district and LLG 5 year plans.
