The Military Wives Association today hosted its annual sports competition at the Murray Barracks Oval under the theme: “Promote Mass Participation, Unite Pride and Force Unity.”
The tournament kicked off on Friday and will continue throughout the weekend, with the finals scheduled for today.
The four-day tournament draws together children and wives of military personnel from all five military units around the nation’s capital. Tournament President Judith Tewigau expressed satisfaction on the turnout.
It was a fun-filled day for military wives and their children, as many participated in Volleyball, Netball and Basketball, more codes to be introduced into the competition are to come.
Judith said there are interests in building up other military posts outside of Port Moresby, and sending them invitations would definitely be a possibility.
