Marcus Ng retained his Kavieng Open Snooker title for a second time over the weekend, after easily accounting for Djorn Fong 4-0 in the best of seven frames final.
Ng set the tone for a one-sided affair from the get go, taking the first frame 55-35, before two closer frames followed. Ng wrapped up the match in frame four 65-26 to be crowned the 2015 champion.
In its fifth year, the tournament continues to contribute to the emergence of young talent driving the growth of snooker in the province.
Kelly Onoma, and 14-year-old Angelo Fong were awarded prizes for the best junior players of the tournament.
Highest break for the tournament went to Djorn Fong, with a score of 53.
Vice President of PNG Billiards and Snooker Association, John Chan, says Kavieng has been producing top snooker players for years and has the potential to do more.
Kavieng Town Mayor, Stanley Mansini, has also pledged his support for next year’s turnament.
