MAPNG Hosts Charity Dinner

The Malaysian Association of PNG, hosted a fundraising dinner on Saturday, at the Stanley Hotel’s Kokoda Ballroom, to raise funds for charity.

It is an annual charity event, held to raise funds for charity and for this year’s event, up to K874 000 was raised.

The Fundraising Chairman, Mr. Ivan Lu said all funds raised from the event, will go to twenty charity organizations in the country, including the Port Moresby General Hospital.

From the funds raised, K54 000 will go to a special project fund, which will be used to assist in any emergency projects. Mr. Lu said funds saved under this special projects fund, from last year, were used to assist in providing relief support, for areas affected by natural disasters that occurred, early this year.

He also added that MAPNG, has seen great results and heard many success stories, of the help they are providing in the past 18 years.

Malaysia is one of the leading investors in Papua New Guinea and pledges to share its experience in nation-building.
