Lloyd Robson Oval Handed Over to New Trustee

PNG Sport Foundation officially handed over Lloyd Robson Oval tothe newly-appointed trustee inthe presence of Sport Minister Justin Tkatchenko yesterday.

The trustee will now speed up work in preparation for 2015 Pacific Games and any ther international rugby league events beyond.

 

This was made possible through collective effort fromthe Department ofLands and Physical Planning and Sport Ministry to make all sporting facilities and grounds remainthe property oPNG Sport Foundation.

 

So far seven sporting grounds titles have been acquired and handed over byLands Department to sports Foundation.

 

The sporting grounds include, Sir John Guise Stadium, Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium, and Besini Parade including Soccer, softball and rugby Union grounds.

 

Lloyd Robson Oval isthe first sporting ground to be subleased to trustee.

 

All Sporting Grounds were compulsorily acquired bythe government and titles are now under Sport Foundation who will sublease out tothe different sporting bodies.
