Lae’s top cop Ivan Lakatani has made a public appeal for anyone with information onthe suspects involved in three robberies since last week Friday to come forward with information’s so that police can proceed with investigations and arrest.
Lakatani saysthe criminals’ methods and weapons used are similar in each robbery.
Early Friday morning a small gang struckthe Lae Eriku Beg Rooster and robbed a senior stuff of K11, 000 and made in a vehiclethey had stolen earlier.
Onthe same day,there was anther robbery inthe center of town, where a small corner shop was robbed of cash in an unspeciflied amount of goods.
On Wednesday, again anther robbery at SVS, staffs transferring cash were held up and K18, 000 was stolen fromthem. The husband ofthe SVS worker who was held at gun point has called for better security.
Police believethe same people have been involved inthe robberies. Lakatani saysthere are three main suspects using a fatory made weapon.
