Morobe United Football Club registered their second win in the National Soccer League competition thrashing Besta United Football Club 2 goals to 1 at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae yesterday.
This now sees Morobe Football Club maintaining its top standing in the NSL competition ladder.
Morobe United were all fired up for the game which they predicted to be an easy win over the Besta PNG Development Squad.
Kiwa Tepo was the first to score for Morobe United in the Opening Minute with Alex Kamen adding another one in the Ninteenth minute. Morobe United took a commanding 2 nil lead by half time.
Morobe United with hopes for an easy win over Besta did not field in much of the heavies.
However that did not eventuate with Besta keeping a close watch on the ball movements.
In the second half, Besta FC put up strong defence and attack in place and recorded their first goal through Tommy Sammy.
Morobe FC Coach Paisas Sami expressed frustration about his boys’ performance.
There were also many missed opportunities in scoring goals by both teams, which could’ve greatly changed the score line at full time.
Meanwhile Besta FC Coach Bob Morris was impressed with his team’s performance.
After beating its two Lae rivals, Morobe FC now has a marmot task ahead when they take on Admiralty Football Club in Port Moresby next weekend.
