Schools in Lae remain suspended as of today, as part of cautionary measures in light of student unrest.
The Provincial Education Department made the decision to suspend classes until Tuesday, and was expected to release an official circular to all schools in the city to suspend classes until next Tuesday.
Along with the Grade 10 National Written Expression examination, all secondary schools were told to hold classes for half a day today.
92 schools from elementary to vocational level are being affected by the suspension.
Reports from the Highlands have also indicated several schools have been closed due to yesterday’s unrest.
