Kumul Petrolium Holdings Limited supports Life PNG Care

By Sharlyne Eri – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited presented K100, 000 to Life PNG Care (LPC) yesterday, as proceeds from the recently held Kumul Petroleum charity golf challenge. The inaugural fundraising golf tournament was held in July for LPC, a local NGO which cares and educates children in Port Moresby.

KPHL Managing Director, Wapu Sonk, said the charity event will be a signature event for KPHL and will be held annually for Life PNG Care. Mr Sonk appealed for support from individuals and business houses towards this worthy cause. He commended LPC director, Colin Yakio for the role of the organization in empowering underprivileged children in Port Moresby for a sustainable future through education.

Under LPC’s Strongim Pikinini Education Program for this year, 250 orphans and vulnerable children are attending schools in NCD. LPC director Mr Yakio said education of young Papua New Guineans was the focus of the organization.

Between the years of 2014 to 2017, LPC has sent 235 children to school under its ‘Strongim Pikinini Education Program’. For this alone the organisation has supported 250 children to go to school.
