Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited presented a cheque of fifty thousand kina to Papua New Guinea Swimming Inc., making it a Silver Sponsor to the 12th Oceania Swimming Championships, in Port Moresby on the 26th of June.

Veteran swimmer Ryan Pini says, not only will the country showcase some of its best swimmers at a high level, but more so to give our guests a taste of what the country has to offer.

KPHL Business Planning Manager, Garry Mazewin upon presenting the Cheques of K50,000 to PNG Swimming Inc, says, not only will the support make the event possible, it will also help reach out to young champion swimmers of the country, providing a platform to showcase their talents.

Mr Pini says the Oceania Swimming Championships is a bigger event then what was hosted during the Pacific Games.

Secretary of PNGSI and OOC, Carly Pini says training for PNG Swimmers is going well. She says PNG will be represented by twenty four swimmers, most of them in country, while at least two will come from overseas.

Ryan Pini, says the event is also a lead up to next year’s Pacific Games. He says the Oceania Event is a great platform for young and upcoming swimmers to show off their talents, and also build the momentum for next year’s Pacific games.

The event will see a total of sixteen countries, including Australia and New Zealand. He says their presence will make the event an international occasion.
