The Government clariflied yesterday that National Planning Secretary; Dr Peter Kora has been suspended over allegation of mismanagement and not removerd.
Andthe notice of suspension will be served once allthe instrumentalities are in place.
Minister for Justice, Kerenga Kua said this in response to a protest this week bythe Simbu people, to keep Dr. Kora asthe Secretary for National Planning & Monitoring.
The NEC’s decision to suspend Dr Kora is based onthe recommendation bythe Public Service Commission following investigations into three areas of alleged mismanagement in office.
Bet Dr Kora saidthe allegations were based on procedural and legal matters.
Away in Dr Kora’s home province, Chimbuthe people called onthe Prime Minister to keep Dr Kora asthe Secretary for National Planning and Monitoring.
They also submitted a petition to Simbu Governor Noah Kool atthe Kundiawa police station, on Monday.
Minister Kua told EMTV News that Dr Kora’s suspension is a process that is yet to be completed.
Kua said Minister for National Planning and Monitoring Charles Abal will notify Dr Kora once investigations where he will also havethe opportunity to defend himself.
Dr Kora yesterday came on EMTV News to say that he has not yet received a formal notice ofthe action against him.
