Kokonas Indastri Koporesen holds Training on Statistical Analysis

By Martha Louis – EMTV News, Madang

The Kokonas Indastri Koporasen in Madang is hosting a week-long training program for its coconut researchers in the province, focusing on statistical analysis.

Managing Director Dr. James Vele Kaiulo, says the researchers will be given basic training in statistics.

Dr. Kaiulo says development officers within the provinces will also undergo similar training to help them to provide a simple analysis of data and surveys they do in the provinces.

Eight participants in the Stewart Coconut Station in Madang started their training on Monday and will complete it on Friday.

The training in statistical analysis means they will be taught to use computer software ‘statistical package for social sciences’.

For many years, the Kononas Indastri Koporesen has acknowledged that they have a problem when it comes to data analysis for the Agriculture-based research in the country.
