West New Britain Province is ready to host the upcoming Pacific MMI Sevens Tournament.
Rugby President, Freddy Matthies has announced that preparations are well underway for the big challenge.
All eyes are on Bougainville’s home grown Black Orchids in the bid to clamp down the unbeatable West New Britain home grown Kimbe Rebels, in the upcoming Pacific MMI Rugby Sevens Tournament.
Orchids lost to Rebels 1 in the cup grand final last year with 33-28. Aroma Coast trailed on third place after losing their title.
Eighteen teams have been registered to compete, that’s according to the West New Britain Province Rugby President.
Speaking from Kimbe in a telephone interview this morning, Mr Matthies has confirmed ten of the eighteen teams are from outside centers like Madang and Aroma.
Kimbe Rebels is set to defend their title again.
The two day tournament will kick off this month on the 21st, at the Kimbe Rugby Oval and is expected to attract a large crowd.
