NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Member for Moresby South Justin Tkatchenko both officially lunchedthe project at a small ceremony.
Forthe people of Joyce Bey, this was a grand occasion. The ground breaking of a K3.7 million road project that began last week.
A Joyce Bey Councilor told both lLeadersthat this wasthe first time in more than a decade that such a physical development was taking place.
Local MP Justin Tkatchenko toldthe crowd that by working withthe governorthey will see more developments intheir communities.
The roads inthe Joyce Bey area have turned into a shocking state, a basic infrastructure that has been left to deteriorate inthe capital city.

The road project has been contracted to Dekenai Construction to implement. Beth lLeadershave promisedthe Joyce Bey community thatthey would also have water and septic services put in duringthe road project.
