A joint Task Force conference on security planning for the 2018 APEC summit is into its third day in Port Moresby.
The conference has brought together senior disciplinary personnel from both PNG and Australia to plan command, control and coordination of security operations, leading up to APEC.
The workshop will end on Friday and disciplinary officers, are hoping to create a strategic operational plan, for APEC Security.
Security agencies involved in this conference include the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary, PNG Defence Force, Correctional Officers, Fire and Emergency personnel and members of the Australian Police and Defence Force.
The conference is known as, ‘Exercise Long Reach 2016’, and is part of promoting Port Moresby as a secure destination for the APEC Summit.
It is facilitated by the Australian Federal Police and funded by the Australian Defence Force, under the Defence Cooperation Program.
This is by far the largest joint conference involving all security agencies in the country.
