The ITU-ABU 2016 Pacific Media Partnership Conference, hosted by EMTV, began this morning in Port Moresby.
With the theme of ‘Collaborating for Broadcasting’ the three-day event will have media stakeholders from around Asia and the Pacific sharing ideas, stories and challenges faced mutually around the region.
Media stakeholders from around the Pacific attended the first day of the ITU-Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union 2016 Pacific Media Partnership Conference.
The intricacies of the media industry was discussed profusely from the technicalities of transitioning from analogue to digital broadcasting, to the challenges of disseminating accurate information that can reach the public.
Lead broadcaster, EMTV, who has more than 20 years of broadcast experience around the nation seemed a natural fit to host the regional event that further puts Papua New Guinea on the world map.
The main objective of the conference is to share country experiences and best practices on transition from analogue to digital broadcasting, to create awareness and discuss challenges on new technologies and to build networks and collaborate for broadcasting.
