Voters in Ijivitari will go to the polls this Saturday for the Ijivitari by-election.
A total of 21 candidates will be contesting the Ijivitari Open seat.
Ousted Ijivitari member, David Arore, was endorsed on the weekend by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, as the People’s National Congress Party candidate.
Candidates contesting the Ijivitari by-election want transparency in the voting and counting process.
They have called on the provincial electoral office to ensure voters are scrutinised to avoid past incidences of underaged voting.
Come Saturday, voters will cast their ballots for a new leader.
Intending candidate David Arore was the latest to be endorsed by the Peoples National Congress Party at the weekend.
Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, led a team to the province to make the endorsement.
He says the government is committed to improving service delivery in the Ijivitari District, and voters must show support to the government by choosing a good leader.
David Arore was ousted in a court battle this year by John Warisan and is hoping to win back his seat.
