Hunters Winger Graduates with Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Physics

By Shane Saroya – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

SP PNG Hunters winger, Justin Olam, has been dubbed by fans as one of the best wingers seen in PNGsince the controversial departure of Garry Lo.

Olam isn’t only only turning heads on the field, he’s also showing his book smarts after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics from the Papua New Guinea University of Technology last weekend.

He surprised his team mates and a few of the Hunters coaching staff after a brief absence to attend his graduation ceremony last Friday, when the team flew down to Australia for their match against the Mackay Cutters.

The flamboyant winger joined the SP Hunters in the 2014 season, from the Lae Snax Tigers.

Olam’s achievement marks a significant milestone for athletes in PNG, showing that off field success is as equally important as to what happens on it.
