Hunters Begin Training for 2016 Season

by Jaylee Sapias – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

Returning from a two-week break over the festive season, the newly selected 2016 PNG Hunters team had their first training session yesterday at the Sir John Guise Stadium.

Senior players described the training program as tough and intense. Former Port Moresby Vipers fullback and second-time Hunters rep Stargroth Amean said the reason being training had been so difficult was in part due to the break.

With two months to go before the Intrust Super Cup Season kicks off, newbie Watson Boas, who played for the inter-city cup grand final winning team Agmark Gurias said the Hunters training program is not one he is used to.

Coach Michael Marum said he is happy with the additions to the squad and hopes to maintain the amount of talent on the team.
