Hot Spot Episode – 26, 2014

In this episode:

Sport Minister Justin Tkatchenko arrived a week prior to the arrival of the PNG contingent to the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. One of the topics discussed at the Commonwealth Sport Minister meet was the use of sporting development for peace.

Also on the show, Lorraine joins us on location at the NCD Secondary School Soccer Grand Final at Gerehu Secondary School.

With the success of both Steven Kari and Dika Toua, most of our athletes will be focusing on preparing for the 2015 Pacific Games.

With Australia and New Zealand’s participation, the opportunity is there for our athletes to be exposed on an elite level of competition.

In our special feature “Get Involved”, Skola trained alongside our National rugby 7’s team, the PNG Palais. Basic ball handling and passing were worked out during the training session, as well as defensive and attacking drills.

If you would like us to feature your Sport story or would like to “Get Us Involved” in our next episode, please send an email to Sport@emtv.com.pg, visit our Facebook page or drop by the second floor of Garden City, Boroko in Port Moresby and ask for our awesome Sport team. We will be more than happy to assist you.

Congratulations to Jubilee Catholic Secondary School for taking out the NCD Secondary School Soccer U-19 boys trophy.

Until next week, play hard, play safe and we’ll catch you right here on Hot Spot!
