It was a hockey rampage over the weekend, as the Sunam A Grade team was forced to forfeit against Multi-View.
The incident perpetuates a number of violence in sport matters earlier in the year, and will be taken seriously, as the matter is to be reviewed over the course of this week.
While Sport has no place for unethical behavior, and violence on and off the field, it seems to be a matter that needs careful attention, which should be executed immediately.
Hockey, a popular yet silenced sport in Port Moresby, had its share of on field drama yesterday.
This incident came about when a Sunam A Grade player physically used her hockey stick as a weapon on field, after the Multi View Goalie had accidentally smacked her hockey stick into her face while attempting to execute the ball, out of the goal mouth.
An official from the NCD Hockey association confirmed the incident, while Umpire Osmond KekEsa’ who officiated the match, urged those on the judicial board, to take this matter seriously.
President of PNG Hockey Federation, Kaluwin Potuan, has confirmed that each Hockey Association has their own disciplinary board in which, this matter should then be taken care of.
