Hekari in Round 4

Round three, NSL reigning champs, Hekari United, are on the top of the ladder, pushing Gigira Laitepo down a point and trailing behind in the Telikom National Soccer League Competition.

Hekari has no time to waste as they prepare to lock horns with Besta United in their first away match.

Sitting on 7 points after round three, Hekari United is expected to continue its form this weekend against the Besta United outfit.

Despite losing defender Koriak Upaiga to a hamstring injury after last weekend’s match against Oro FC, Hekari will be true to its form, having youngster Willie Gia teaming up with experienced skipper, David Muta in the midfield.

While Nigel Dabinyaba will take the lead in the frontline alongside Solomon Islands imports Nicholas Muri, Tutizama Tanito and Raymond Gunemba expected to cause an upset.

Nicholas Muri has stamped his mark with his first hat-trick for this season against Admiralty FC in the round two.

No doubt Muri is the one to look out for.

Coach Jerry Allan follows closely on the boys’ performances as these are part of their preparation of their participation in the O-League championship coming up in April.

Meanwhile Besta United will be in their own class as they welcome the Hekari to their turf this Saturday.

In the other matches, Admiralty will go up against Gigira Laitepo while Oro go foot to foot with Lae FC.

Both matches will be played at the Bisini Soccer Grounds in Port Moresby while Eastern Stars are on bye.
