Hanuabada Villagers to Maintain Roadblock

By Vasinatta Yama – EM TV, Port Moresby

The Hanuabada Mandated Committee say the roadblock into the village will not be removed until all their demands are met by the government.

They said they have no confidence in police despite the Constabulary having good high-ranking officers.

The three lawyers are now compiling their evidence and have set up their own team to conduct investigations into two killings.

They said the figure reported in the newspaper today is not their final demand, as they are still calculating a cemented figure valuing over 200 million kina.

The committee will only be managing the situation and they want justice to prevail.

In the meantime, a proposed march will be conducted at a later date from the village to the Police Headquarters in Konedobu, where a petition is expected to be presented to the police.

On the other hand, police have also commenced their investigations into the fatal shooting of the two villagers.
