Gulf Governor wants Proper Survey

Gulf Governor Havila Kavo says he will stand by the landowners affected by the LNG gas pipeline and will make sure that the Government takes on full responsibility to address environmental and social issues concerning the people.

He raised concerns on the survey conducted regarding the LNG  pipeline which runs through the Gulf province saying that no proper survey was done and the Government should look into that.

The Governor says he is not happy with the survey conducted by the developer of the LNG pipeline project and is asking the Government to conduct proper surveying which will also include the people of Gulf province.

He raised concerns on the effects on the marine life in the province saying there was no proper survey done and in the next ten to fifteen years all marine life will be destroyed.

He also added that he wanted a port built for the province, including processing plants for more downstream processing.

He added that the time is right to introduce downstream processing which will involve more economic activity for the people and for development.
