Governor Haoda Announce Concerns On Central Province Missing Out on Goods and Services Tax

Central Province is missing out on Goods and Services Tax (GST) for projects that are in the province.

Governor for Central Province, Kila Haoda, announced his concern recently at the launch of a major hydro power project.

He said any investor looking to invest in projects in the province must work with the Provincial Government.

Central Province Governor, Kila Haoda, was speaking at the launch of the multi-million Kina Edeveu Hydro Power Project located in the Koiari LLG in the Central Province.

From information he obtained, a company may operate in the province, like the hydro power project, but if its address is in NCD, the GST goes to NCD and not to the Central Province.

He said if this is so, he called on the Minister responsible to take note for further discussions on the issue.

Governor Haoda was adamant that the Central Province needs to be accorded a bit more respect from the National Government for the sacrifices of its resources, surrendered for the development of the nation.
