Gazelle Softball Club isthe first Softball Club in Port Moresby to be incorporated to run its own affairs.
The name is synonymous with softball fraternity allthe way back to 1979.
The club’s management sees this development as a new dawn for the club to mover forward with sponsorship support from Moni Plus Limited.
The Gazelle Softball club has been on softball diamonds for more than three decades.
A revived Gazelle is ready for next season which is set to kick off next month. Teams will also be looking out for Gazelle asthe countdown continues to 2015 Pacific Games.
Even thoughthe team narrowly finished on 5th spot last season,the club hopes to have next seasontheir way.
The club’s long standing and discipline has secured attention from Hedura Moni Plus Limited with a sponsorship package of K10, 000.
The support will go a long way asthe club is working to be incorporated and wants to have a clubhouse.
Formalization ofthe club’s incorporation will be onthe 28th of this month. This is indeedthe first time for a softball club to be corporatized.
Moni Plus is a strong supporter of sports inthe country. They have been involved inthe code of Rugby League, basketball, and AFL. This is part oftheir community social and responsibility.
