Gary Lo has returned to the United Kingdom to join the Sheffield Eagles after an unsuccessful stint with the Newcastle Thunders.
He joins fellow countrymen Mark Mexico and Menzie Yere, with the hope of making a big impact.
Lo won the Intrust Super Cup Winger of the year award when he played with the SP PNG Hunters in 2014. He has been injury troubled, and may see him make a possible return to action against Workington Town this Saturday.
He has a dislocated shoulder which saw him miss two games for his new club. With the injury not thought to be serious, head coach, Mark Aston, had expected to have Lo back within a couple of weeks. They have decided to give him a cortisone injection to help settle down his shoulder, and hopefully get him back on the field.
Coach Aston says he is confident that Lo could return ahead of a home clash with the league’s bottom club on Saturday.
