Funeral Benefits For Kairuku Hiri

Kairuku Hiri electorate in the Central Province is the first province to have a funeral benefit plan for its constituents.

Known as the Kairuku Hiri Resting Plan, it is designed by Life Insurance Corporation Limited, and comes under the insurer’s Paradise Resting Plan.

Kairuku Hiri’s Joint District Planning and Budget Priorities Committee endorsed three hundred thousand kina for this plan.

Member, Peter Isoaimo, met with the insurer to make available the premium for this year.

Mr. Isoaimo said this will now address the burden of paying for funeral expenses.

Isoaimo told those present that, since taking office some months ago, his office has been bombarded with requests for funeral costs, prompting him to have a funeral plan in place for his electorate.

This funeral benefit plan will pay one thousand two hundred kina, for each death upon receipt of an application form with endorsement of the member.

General Manager of Life Insurance PNG Limited, Raka Taviri, took the opportunity to encourage other members of parliament to do the same for their electorates.
