Francisca Tulungeneram of Lae won last night’s Vocal Fusion Season 5 competition.
She was handed the key of the new model of the Toyota 4×4 Hi-lux double cab in front of adoring family members, friends and sponsors from the Morobe Capital.
Speaking with Frankie off-stage, you would not have the slightest clue what her performance persona is.
Until, of course, you equip the youngster from Lae with a microphone.
Francisca came into the competition as meek but a clear talent. She blew judges away from the Lae auditions.
She had maintained solid standing as the weeks wore on in the competition.
Until on Grand Final night, the talent shone through. The atmosphere was electrifying as Franki, whom she is known as on the Vocal Fusion SMS and Online Voting lines, sang her second song for the second half of the grand final showdown with a standing ovation performance to American pop star, Pink’s, ‘What About Us’.
When speaking with EMTV News, she told us that her upbringing had challenges. Her father battled with alcoholism and singing was an avenue for her to release stress.
The other winners included noted Mt Hagen duo, Raylinda and Serah Mura on 1st Runner-Up, Kimbe’s Joe Dau took 2nd Runner-Up
and Port Moresby Auditions’, Anna Tupou-Morove landed the 3rd Runner-Up spot.
The next season for the vocal talent show is said to be in the pipeline for a bigger and better array of talent.
