A woman, 38 year old, Gyulchehra Bobokulova, from Uzbekistan was holding a severed head of a young child outside a metro station on Monday, 29 February.
Russian police have arrested the thirty eight year old after she was seen shouting outside the Russian Capital’s Oktyabrskoye Pole station.
It is believed that the woman was the nanny of 4 year old, Anastasia Meshcheryakova, whose beheaded remains were discovered inside her cot in her parents’ apartment.
A statement released by the Moscow Investigative Committee: “The child’s nanny…waited until the parents with an older child to leave the apartment, for unknown reasons, committed the murder of a minor, set fire to the apartment and left the scene.”
The child’s mother was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state after hearing the devastating news.
According to local media, Bobokulova was shouting in the streets: “I hate democracy. I am a terrorist. I want to die.
The woman has since been placed in psychiatric care, in order for authorities to determine her mental state.
If she is deemed psychologically fit to stand trial she will face up to 20 years in prison.
