Final round of inter-school Math and IT Competition

 

The final round of the Maths and IT competition held today at the Institute of Business Studies University, saw participation from eleven students from seven Secondary Schools in NCD. Six of them competed in Information Technology, while the other five participated in Maths.

Four students from Port Moresby National High School made it through the elimination and competed in the final round, where three of them, were announced as finalist in the IT competition.

The Maths competition started off on a high note with five participants from Mt Diamond Secondary, Gordons Secondary, Marianville and Jubilee Secondary. After elimination, three finalists were selected in the final round of the maths competition.

Ilrich March from Mt Diamond Secondary, Cosma-Leigh Oli from Gordons Secondary and Monalisa Koral from Marianville Secondary put up a competitive show.

The inter school competition initially started in 2008 as the Maths competition. In 2018, the IT component was incepted and merged with the Maths completion.

The competition is aimed to provide a challenging, engaging mathematical and IT experience that is competitive and educational.

This year, over 400 students from secondary schools in NCD and Central participated in the inter-school maths and IT competition.
