Fiji to take part in Asia Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2017

During the the Asia Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) 2017, Fiji will be taking part in four sporting disciplines next month.

These are swimming, athletics, tennis and weight-lifting.

Like Papua New Guinea (PNG), this is the first time Fiji and other Pacific Islands in the region will be competing in the AIMAG. An upgrade in the competition is expected to follow for the Pacific Mini Games and the Commonwealth Games.

Though unlike PNG, this is the first international meet for most of their athletes.

PNG, on the other hand is sending athletes for swimming and weightlifting, boasting all from the weightlifting team to be in the top five in the commonwealth.
