In partnership with FIFPro, the worldwide football players Union, FIFA recently announced a shortlist of 55 professional players vying for the 2016 FIFA FIFPro World11.
And there are 7 categories; the best Men’s and Women’s player, with the best FIFA Men’s and Women’s Coach. Along with the FIFA Puskás Award 2016, the FIFA Fan Award; and the FIFA Fair Play Award.
In contention for the top men’s and women’s players include some of the world’s top ranked defenders, strikers and midfielders.
Among them, are Argentine’s Lionel Messi, and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldino. Both of whom have had their fair share of Ballon D’or and Player of the Year wins.
Votes for the nominees come from professional footballers from 75 countries.
The winners will be announced later tonight at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Zurich.
