Before getting to business on the court, Federer enjoyed a boat trip along the South Bank riverfront in Brisbane.

The 17-time grand slam event winner was met by representatives of the of the indigenous Mirrabooka tribe, who gave him a traditional welcome to the country.

The 34-year-old Swiss veteran, whose last major win came at Wimbledon in 2012, says the wait for an 18th slam title is stretching out, but he’s not overly concerned.

Meanwhile, Australian star Nick Kyrgios preparing for the Hopman Cup, met with local children on Cottesloe Beach on Saturday in Perth, telling the media he doesn’t intend to change his approach anytime soon.
