Institute of Business Studies (IBS) student ,Tabu Airi, had graduated from IBS University on October 20.
The next night he went to a popular nightclub to celebrate, and never returned home.
Airi’s body was found in the air-conditioning vent of the building housing the Treasury Department on Wednesday, October 25.
Keith Lahui, Tabu Airi’s maternal uncle, spoke to EMTV News on Friday.
He said whilst the family is grieving over the loss of their loved one, his nephew’s death has raised concerns regarding security at the Treasury Department with the family claiming security from the hotel were seen inside the Treasury building after Airi had gone missing.
Police investigations are underway with a post mortem to be conducted on the body of the deceased.
The family has also called on parents, but more so students, to be more responsible at this time of the year.
“End of year celebrations for students should not be encouraged – instances of students dying as a result of these parties is unfortunately becoming all too common.”
