Fairfax Volleyball To Focus More on Beach Volleyball

Fairfax Volleyball President, Kila Dick, says his focus is now on Beach Volleyball competitions because there are more opportunities in beach volleyball at this stage.

He says the men’s volleyball team is the gold medal team, so the association is more focused on getting the team ready for major events like the Commonwealth Games.

Since taking up the post as president of the Fairfax Volleyball Association, his vision was to see a change of mindset in his volleyball players, as well as to influence the younger generation using sports as a tool for development and change.

The President hopes they can rise to the occasion, and be selected to represent the national team.

With the inclusion of beach volleyball in the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, President Dick says under his leadership, the association is helping these players gear up for the qualifying events that are lined up for this year.

Other major events include, the Mini Pacific Games, the National Volleyball Championships; and also the Beach Volleyball Competition.

President Dick, along with his executives, is eager to set a precedence in terms of protocol, with a stern warning that if people in the association are not complying with the rules, they will have to go.

Now moving forward, Fairfax Volleyball competition has set the standard allowing players to participate in both the national competition, as well as the national team.
