Seventy-two grade ten students of Holy Cross High School on Nissan Island in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville were fortunate to sit for their national examinations yesterday.
These students nearly missed out, because of the bad weather that affected the delivery of their exam papers.
Head Teacher, Alfred Sagolo, speaking to EMTV News from Nissan Island, said that examinations started on time this morning, with the supervision of Thomasina Singkong.
“Our exams started on time this morning and we thank our invigilators for their corporation and support,” Mr Sagolo said exams have begun with prayers facilitated by the invigilators.
“Every morning is prayers before exams. Our students will be singing the Marian hymn of Sub Tuum to give thanks to God for his protection and guidance in our lives and the exams which students will go through,” Sagolo said.
Nissan is one of those outer islands in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, only accessed with sea transport.
