Bulolo District will now have a better audio and visual reception of EMTV in its 2 LLGs and townships including the rural communities.
Today, the EMTV Management presented 15 decoders valued at K2, 200 per unit, to local MP, Sam Basil.
This comes under the Bulolo District Telecommunications Program.
Mr. Basil said it was costly, however, this cost is outweighed by the amount of information, news and awareness that his people will benefit from.
Bulolo currently has wireless transmission units set up in the Mumeng LLG, Buang LLG, Bulolo and Wau townships whilst Baiune and Leklu villages are on cable network.
Approximately over a thousand people have access to the EMTV signal.
Garaina station and Watut will now benefit from the VSAT systems soon to be installed.
15 decoders were presented to Mr. Basil today by EMTV’s News Manager Neville Choi, and Engineering Manager Raul Gaviola.
Each decoder cost K2 200.
The new decoders will be operating at a more efficient satellite signal, which can be received, regardless of terrain and lack of infrastructure.
The switch-over of decoders, will be carried out throughout the country. Public awareness on the switch-over through Television and radio services has already commenced.
